Blog Merger and Book Giveaway

Sunday, November 8, 2009

*Gulp!* I think I'm gonna do it. Yep, I really am.

You see, I've been trying to maintain 3 blogs for awhile, and it's just gotten to be too much. In case you hadn't noticed, I had two other blogs going-- one for my book reviews and one for homeschooling topics. I love to blog, but I was finding it all a bit overwhelming. So after a lot of thought, I've decided to merge back into one main blog. I think it will make my life easier, and make blogging more fun for me again. I hope you'll continue to ride along with me!

As a "thank you" for bearing with me while make these detours and get back on route, I have decided to offer a big box of books as a special giveaway for the month of November. With the holidays coming up, you could even use the books for gifts. Here are the books I've selected:
Simply leave me a comment during the month of November for your chance to win this box of a dozen books. (U.S. addresses only, please.)

Would you like more chances to win? Here's some other things you could do to help me out... and for each one you do, leave another comment for another chance to win:

  • Follow this blog.
  • Mention if you were a follower of one of my other blogs.
  • Twitter about this giveaway.
  • Post on Facebook about this giveaway.
  • Blog about this giveaway.
And while we're talking about giveaways, it's time to announce the winner of my October giveaway at Roads to Learning. And the winner is... Tristan who blogs at Our Busy Homeschool. Congratulations, Tristan! I'll get your books out to you.

It will be so much easier to read all your wisdom when it's collected in one spot! As one who reads all three blogs, I am looking forward to the merge!

Oh, and I am a follower, and I tweeted about the giveaway!

I went to two blogs so that our long distance family wouldn't get burdened with my crafts or preschool fun, unless they wanted to, but it is hard! I do not come up with ten posts a week, but I do what I can. I sometimes think one blog would be more fun, too...but could not consider three!

I just found your blog or blogs while searching for others who use Sonlight. We're new to Sonlight this year and love it!

I follow your road to learning blog.

I follow your Roads to Learning blog, but I subbed in bloglines to this one. I completely sympathetize on trying to keep just one blog going let alone three!

I updated my sidebar to reflect this change. I hope one blog makes life a lot easier. I know that I couldn't keep up with three blogs!

Did I MISS it somewhere? Will THIS be your new solo blog, or do I need to switch to another site?

First let me say Congrats!! I think it is great that you are consolidating down to one blog. I used to maintain two+, and it is HARD! I just assume that if I post a topic someone isn't interested in - they'll skip it. :)

Second - what a great giveaway!! I'm dying (not literally) to read The Sound of Sleigh Bells... was so sad to miss out on the blog tour. My son would love the First Dictionary too... so this would be a great win for our family. :)

Hi, Karla! What a fantastic giveaway for the holidays! Please put my name in the hat. I'm struggling to keep up with one blog, so I cannot imagine doing three....but you are much more experienced at that sort of thing. Say, how's the knitting going these days?

Dori said...

I voted for you and Laura on that thing you sent...does that count for another vote for me here? Huh? Huh? Does it? Huh?
