About a year ago I had the opportunity to review Who is God?, the first book in the "What We Believe" series from Apologia Educational Ministries. I was very impressed with it, and my daughter enjoyed it as well, so I was happy to be asked to review the second book in the series, Who Am I? (as a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew.)
When the package came in the mail I was delighted to discover that Apologia had not only sent the book this time, but the supplementary notebooking journal, audio CD, and coloring book. Becky loves it! There is a suggested schedule in the front of the journal, so she can see how many pages to listen to/read each day, and what pages in the journal to complete to go along with that day's lesson. Each lesson includes a continuing story, discussion questions, vocabulary words, learning activities, short related articles, and Bible verses. I love that she can work independently and use this for her private devotions even though she's not a strong reader. The series was designed for students ages 6 to 14.
The "textbook" is a beautiful hardback with full color photos throughout. It is $39.00. The spiral-bound notebooking journal is also full color with a wide range of journaling prompts, word puzzles, fill-in-the-blank pages, and cut-and-paste activities to reinforce the concepts. It is $24.00. The audio CD includes the full text in MP3 format. It is $19.00. The coloring book has attractive, appealing line art to complement the lessons, printed on nice quality paper. It is $8.00.
If you are looking for a great worldview study for school-age children I highly recommend this series! Thank you to Apologia for sending me these materials in exchange for my honest review.
