With all the chemical additives and genetic modifications to our food supply, I have been trying to make more healthy choices for my family for the past few years. It's been a slow process to change over from the Standard American Diet (SAD) to a more natural way of eating, but I do think it's important.
I was interested to have the opportunity to review Treasures of Healthy Living. It turned out to be not quite what I was expecting. It mixes a Bible study in with tips for a more healthful lifestyle. The information is very helpful but I found it distracting to switch back-and-forth between Bible verses and spiritual analogies-- such as comparing our need for physical water with our need for spiritual water--to practical tips. It also frequently referred to other go-along resources which weren't included on this blog tour. I felt like I only got part of the program. Because of that, I didn't find it quite as helpful as I had hoped. I'm sure I will refer to it from time-to-time. I think I'd like to see the practical tips as one resource, or section of the book, and the Bible study a separate thing, rather than all mixed together. Still, like I said, it does include some good information, so I'm sure I'll refer to it again.
