Hear Builder Auditory Memory - review

As a member of the Schoolhouse Review Crew I have the opportunity to express interest in educational products that I feel would be a good fit for my homeschool. Now that I'm down to one student, who happens to have learning challenges related to auditory processing, I am limited in the materials that will work for her. (In case you don't know, auditory processing is how a person remembers and responds to things she hears.) I have learned to adapt various materials to fit Becky's learning style, but it's really nice when I come across something that targets the very area she needs the most help with.

HearBuilder Auditory Memory software from Super-Duper Publications is just such a product. I was excited to learn that is is usually used by students in kindergarten to 8th grade, since a lot of the materials I find for Becky are often designed for much younger children. Still, as I previewed the cartoony format, I wasn't sure what she would think. Would it be something she would enjoy using? After all, it's the "same ol'" auditory drill we've been working on for years.  Much to my delight, she does enjoy it. When I asked her opinion for writing this review she said, "I like it. It's a lot of fun to see if I can get to the next level." That makes me happy, and you can be sure we'll be continuing to use it as part of our daily routine for the upcoming school year.

The HearBuilder Auditory Memory Software Home Edition is $69.95. That's for up to four students. The folks at Super-Duper are offering a great discount to readers of my blog. Use code BLGAM30 to receive a 30% discount on HearBuilder Auditory Memory. This offer is good through August 31, 2012. Other products from Super-Duper that the Crew reviewed included the HearBuilder Following Directions software and a game called Jeepers Peepers. Visit the Schoolhouse Review Crew blog for more reviews (and coupons for the other products), if you're interested.
