Who Is My Neighbor? from Apologia Press is the third in a series of worldview curriculum, What We Believe, for elementary students. My daughter and I went through the first book in the series, Who Is God?, together. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Later she went through the second book, Who Am I?, on her own, along with the companion notebooking journal.
We were happy to have the opportunity now to review the third book. It has been such a great curriculum to help her understand basic Christian beliefs.
We haven't yet finished this one, but we plan to continue using it in the upcoming school year. We received the hardback textbook ($39), the spiral-bound notebooking journal ($24), and the coloring book ($8) for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
While the textbook could stand alone very easily, the supplemental materials help reinforce the concepts that are taught, and also help my daughter understand how to apply these principles to her own life in practical ways.
There is a suggested schedule in the front of the journal, so she can see how many pages to read each day, and what pages in the journal to complete to go along with that day's lesson. Each lesson includes a continuing story, discussion questions, vocabulary words, learning activities, short related articles, and Bible verses. The series was designed for students ages 6 to 14.
